The Municipal Theatre of Piraeus was established in 1895 and has a great capacity of 600 guests. The prominent Theatre was built by the famous architect Ioannis Lazarimos and has a neoclassical design. Because of its central location, it is an ideal choice for the inhabitants or people visiting Piraeus. In 2013 the building was renovated and after a 10-year hiatus, this brand-new building is waiting for guests to be entrained. Many great performances, among others, the operetta “Befana”, Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”, the Aristophanic comedy “Ekklisiazusas”, performed in the vernacular, by P. Dimitrakopoulos have taken place throughout the years. Due to the new metro stop of the blue line, access to the municipal theater has now become particularly easy. For anyone visiting the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, we recommend that the visit be combined with an experience at our Savoy Hotel restaurant to taste our Greek cuisine combined with modern Asian and Central European dishes, created by the charismatic Executive Chef Patrick Maschas.
